Boasting outstanding and panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the fells, BLENHEIM LODGE nestles serenely upon a Lakeland fell with The Dales Way footpath right behind our family home and B&B. Enjoy these vistas of Lake Windermere and Brant Fell you see in this listing snapped from our pretty, cosy rooms. This comfortable Victorian family home is secluded and peaceful with a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Relax in quirky and characterful ensuite rooms, many with lovely antique furniture including 19th century silk-draped four posters and Louis XV beds. ALL our beds are topped with excellent handmade deep pocket sprung mattresses for a good night’s sleep. In The Dalesway room, we also have a single daybed with a handmade mattress so this room can also be used for twin, triple as well as double occupancy. (Please note that there is an extra third person charge for this room). Nestled upon a quiet hilltop Blenheim Lodge is a mere 5-minute walk to Bowness centre and Lake Windermere with all their many attractions and amenities, yet our secluded location offers a tranquil haven from busy traffic and crowds. Blenheim Lodge is centrally situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park with easy access for exploring this stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. Indeed, we would be more than delighted to help organise door to door sightseeing tours and activities. Blenheim Lodge is also perfect for Dales Way walkers, with our Bed and Breakfast being the first and only guest house in Bowness en-route for and next to The Dales Way. There is a comfy lounge with Lake and fell views to enjoy, and also free WiFi and car park. Minimum 2 to 3 nights’ stay.
Public transport:- Only a couple of minutes’ walk to bus stops and 5 minutes’ walk to the lakeshore for Windermere Lake Cruises where there are boats to both Waterhead and Lakeside. There are also boats to other stops in-between. The Windermere Ferry takes people across from Bowness to the opposite shore where there are walks and other attractions, including Beatrix Potter’s house. The ferry takes motor vehicles, foot passengers and bikes…even horses with riders!
