Shrewsbury is one of the country's delights, the Times stating it’s "the overlooked market town...... stuffed with independent shops.....the markets excellent.......the pubs are terrific.”  The Tudor centre has many historical buildings, there are gentle walks along the river Severn and adjoining gardens and museums, castle and abbey to explore.   Ludlow, Church Stretton and Ironbridge are all good to visit with their many attractions. Walking and cycling in the Shropshire Hills is plentiful with the Long Mynd, Wenlock Edge and Stiperstones all within easy reach. There are many National Trust and English Heritage properties to visit locally, along with Acton Scott - a working farm, boat trips, RAF Cosford Air Museum and the Severn Valley Railway with its steam train to name but a few.

I would highly recommend the Roost, it has everything you could need for a relaxing break. It’s nicely furnished, very comfortable with plenty of space. We took our two dogs, they loved the garden and all the surrounding walks in the area. Julie was very welcoming and gave us lots of tips directions for places to visit. We will definitely return again.
