Near to the beautiful village of Cowshill with a good pub and sits in the valley of Weardale, Nelly’s Cottage is a real family home, ideal for children where they can see Harry and meet his Hereford Cattle and Calves. We have our dogs Alice who loves to go for a walk, Fly is our farm collie. Collect eggs from our chickens.
This is an ideal family cottage that sleeps six but is equally ideal for two. The open plan lounge has two large leather sofas, TV with FreeView and DVD, fast WFI. +4G, also a log fire. The beautiful large fully fitted kitchen has a dining table in beech that seats six or more. There is an electric oven and grill with halogen hob, microwave, dishwasher, slow cooker,4 slice toaster, double sinks, washing machine, large fridge/freezer, CD player with radio.
A double bed room looks onto the garden at the rear. Beautifully furnished in pinewood, good-sized room with king size bed (with duvets) and bedside cupboards with large bedside lamps wardrobe and drawers and wardrobe, colour TV and a large ensuite bathroom with bath and handrails, space around WC drop down rails, two washbasins one with handrails. there are two large twin rooms, tastefully furnished with pine, with two large three-foot wide beds with beautiful bed linen (with duvets) and throws, bedside cupboards and lamps. There is also wardrobe space and drawers. They both share a shower room with roll in shower and handrails with plenty of space around the WC. There are two washbasins.
To the back is a seating area, patio and sheltered garden with access through archway to the front of the cottage leading to amazing panoramic views from the front of the cottage across the valley. Also seating at the front of the cottage.
Directions: On the A689 mid way between Alston & Stanhope. 10 miles each way. Follow A1, then A68. Then West on A869.
M6 - A686 to Alston. Follow A689 to Durham. 10 miles on the left hand-side of the road, (yellow B&B Sign up farm track).
