Shrewsbury is one of the country's delights, the Times stating it’s "the overlooked market town...... stuffed with independent shops.....the markets excellent.......the pubs are terrific.”  The Tudor centre has many historical buildings, there are gentle walks along the river Severn and adjoining gardens and museums, castle and abbey to explore.   Ludlow, Church Stretton and Ironbridge are all good to visit with their many attractions. Walking and cycling in the Shropshire Hills is plentiful with the Long Mynd, Wenlock Edge and Stiperstones all within easy reach. There are many National Trust and English Heritage properties to visit locally, along with Acton Scott, a working farm (opening Spring 2024), boat trips, RAF Cosford Air Museum and the Severn Valley Railway with its steam train to name but a few.
