Directions: Ripponden is on A58, 3 miles west of Sowerby Bridge. From M62 turn off at Juncion 22 and follow moor road for 5 miles to Ripponden. Go through traffic lights and turn left into Royd Lane by The Conservative Club. At the top, turn right by Beehive Pub. After about a mile there is a post box in the wall on the left. Thurst House Farm is on the right on a bad bend, it is advisable to back in.

Ripponden itself is a village close to the market town of Sowerby Bridge, in West Yorkshire. There are many attractions within easy reach including the Royal Armouries Museum, Brontë Parsonage Museum, National Media Museum and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which can all be reached within 40 minutes. Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Cannon Hall Museum and the fabulous Harewood House are an hour away. For those seeking the bright lights of a big city, both Manchester and Leeds are around 50 minutes’ away. Shop 3¼ miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

    Fantastic stay from start to finish, Judith and David were perfect hosts. The Cottage is really cosy and very well appointed. Took our dog and used the private field at the back of the Cottage loads. Loved it so much l have just booked again for November.
