The South Hams Way is a beautiful 100-mile circular trail that begins and ends in the historic market town of Totnes. Divided into ten manageable sections, it takes walkers through four stunning landscapes – the rugged beauty of Dartmoor, rolling countryside, picturesque estuaries and over 50 miles of the spectacular South West Coast Path. Whether you fancy a weekend stroll or a longer walking holiday, there’s a section to suit every ability. The route has been designed with convenient access to public transport, refreshments and accommodation along the way.

B&B of the Month – Stanborough Farm, near Totnes

This month we’re delighted to feature Stanborough Farm, a welcoming B&B on a traditional working dairy farm in the heart of the South Hams. Just six miles from Totnes, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, it’s an excellent base for walkers, cyclists and exploring this beautiful part of Devon. Guests can enjoy comfortable en-suite accommodation, delicious farmhouse breakfasts featuring fresh eggs from the farm and warm Devon hospitality.

Stanborough Farm is perfectly located for anyone planning to explore the new South Hams Way. To make your walking holiday even easier, your hosts can offer a drop-off and collection service for a small fee, allowing you to walk different sections of the route without having to retrace your steps. It’s a convenient way to experience more of this spectacular trail at your own pace.

It’s also an excellent choice for guests who prefer to travel by public transport or leave the car behind during their stay. There is a frequent direct train service from London Paddington to Totnes. Guests can be collected from Totnes Railway Station by prior arrangement. A regular bus service runs between Totnes, Halwell, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth, with Halwell bus stop just a 10-minute walk from the farm.
