“It was a lovely afternoon — such an afternoon as only September can produce when summer has stolen back for one more day of dream and glamour.”  L.M. Montgomery.

Visit Devon with its spectacular coastline, beautiful beaches and not forgetting fabulous cream teas! Explore the stunning beauty and endless adventure of the English Riviera, incorporating the towns of Brixham, Paington and Torquay. ‘Queen of Crime’ author Agatha Christie was born in Torquay and in 1938 bought a holiday home, Greenway, on the banks of the River Dart. Celebrate this literary heritage at The Agatha Christie Festival (7 – 15 Sept).

Our ‘B&B of the Month’, Windwhistle Farm is located just 7 miles from the historic city of Plymouth. This traditional Devon farmhouse is set in 2 acres of beautiful gardens, bordered by woodland and the Dartmoor National Park. A shepherd hut is also available as a self-catering option.

Discover the enchanting beauty of Dartmoor National Park, where ancient forests and rugged tors create a landscape straight out of a fairytale. Immerse yourself in the mystical atmosphere of Wistman’s Wood, with its twisted oak trees and moss-covered boulders that seem to whisper secrets of centuries past. Trek through Bellever Forest, where towering pines and tranquil streams provide a peaceful haven for nature lovers, and don’t miss the breathtaking views from the top of Bellever Tor. Dartmoor Walking Festival  (7 – 15 Sept), will be hosting a series of guided walks, accessible walks and online talks. Booking is required with proceeds going to this year’s chosen charity, Devon Air Ambulance.

New to B&B Nationwide, we are delighted to introduce Watergate Cottage, a charming 17th-century cottage set in the picturesque South Hams countryside close to Dartmoor and the coast. Located just one mile from the village and the sea, this B&B offers the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.

For an authentic countryside experience, stay at award-winning Yellingham Farm, a charming 3-bedroom B&B, nestled in the heart of East Devon, close to the lively market town of Honiton. This working farm, bordered by the beautiful River Tale, is within easy reach of Exeter and the famous Jurassic coastline.

As summer fades there’s no denying it, the days are drawing in, all the more reason to enjoy some well-deserved downtime!

Happy travelling!
