Autumn… what a fantastic time of the year! The still warm sun burns away the morning mist lurking in valleys and meadows to set off the colours of the moor, mountain and countryside. Even the greyest of days struggles to dampen spirits, when set against a vibrant display of autumnal colour! An ideal time to wrap up warm and explore the wonders on our own doorstep!

As well as the 15 National Parks  we have in the UK, there are also 38  Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales. Offering some of the best countryside for walking, cycling, horse-riding and wildlife-watching, how fortunate we are that these designated areas have been protected for our enjoyment and that of future generations!

The loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II last month heralded a time in our history of profound sadness and reflection. We look now to a new era with King Charles III. Some of the most beautiful and grand castles can be found in the UK, each with its own unique and rich history. Our recent Blog ‘Step back in time…with our Castle Trail’,  highlights a selection of castles to visit around the country.

So, as we look forward…think bright chilly mornings, falling leaves, pumpkin decorating, toasty evenings by the fire, hot chocolate…maybe even a cosy getaway…?
